Bereavement Care has been nominated for The Inspiring Fratton Awards which were set up in 2019 by Fratton Big Local and Stephen Morgan MP.
The free bereavement care service has been running for more than 20 years.
The awards stress that the important element for all nominations is that their actions benefit the Fratton Community. The overall aim of the awards is to celebrate people and their achievement in the Fratton Big Local area.
Fratton Big Local is a Big Lottery funded 10-year project working to make lasting improvements to Fratton. It is run by a Partnership of local residents, who make decisions about how to spend the funding.
The award ceremony is being held at St Mary’s Church on Friday 2nd December.
The service offered by Bereavement Care is open to everyone in its local communities – regardless of whether they have used its services. Southern Co-op funeral branches can be found at www.funeralcare.co.uk/our-funeral-directors/location-map/.
The free service is designed to help and support people struggling to deal with bereavement.
The team also holds a Bereavement Wellbeing Group on the third Thursday of every month at Portsmouth’s Milton Village Hall.
